Rebecca Eldridge, owner and photographer of ReelPhoto, was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio and only recently (2010) moved to the Lansing, Michigan area.

Throughout her young years, art in all forms were all that would keep her busy for hours on end and quiet (especially during Church). As she began to grow older, her interest in art began to grow larger and larger. She would draw and paint and excelled in school art projects; Always trying to become more and more creative. Rebecca was given her first camera with 110 mm film in grade school and she carried it EVERYWHERE.

Her interest in photography was always there, although it may not have hit her until she got to college where she studied and received her BFA degree. Within her studies, she took classes in every possible studio art field: drawing, painting, screen printing, sculpture and of course, photography. Back then, photography classes were formal and historic to how they are today: developing film, working in the dark room, mixing chemicals and many hours of trial and error to get the PERFECT photograph developed.

Rebecca enjoys dabbling still with her trusty manual Nikon and her two "vintage" Kodak Brownies, but more and more is using her Nikon DSLR D3000 camera to shoot with. "Shooting with a digital camera is fun and the technology is so advanced- what you can do with a photograph is simply amazing. I will always be learning new ways to photograph, but I am glad that I grew up learning how to manipulate film. I love my fine arts background."

"I believe in taking the photo 'right the first time.' I do like to edit photographs, but prefer to do it minimally. I firmly believe that photography is an art. I will always treat it as so. Digital photography makes it so easy for anyone to buy a camera and get out there, point and click. I will always try to have my photographs push the envelope, raise the bar and I will always use my creative eye when I shoot to make sure that my clients are just as proud of their photographs as I am."
